First things first, I write about a lot of different stuff, but one of the reasons I started writing was because of addiction. With addiction, suicide is sometimes one bad night away. I would be doing a disservice to anyone reading this blog if I did not address that on this page first.
So, if you need IMMEDIATE help for suicide prevention, call the following number NOW. It will eventually cross the mind of EVERY addict, so you are not alone. Just realize this: you might not give a shit about yourself, and you might not think others do either, and you might think there is no help for your troubles except death, but shy of taking others with you, it’s the least noble way to leave this Earth.
Call the number below, get through today, then go find some nobility, some honor, hell, just walk an old lady across the street tomorrow, then dance with her, kiss her hand, and curtsy. It’ll be amazing for both of you, and I don’t care if you’re a man, woman, teenager, or the last surviving homo erectus. I joke, but I’m dead damn serious. Just go do something bigger than yourself. Serve others and see if you you aren’t served in return. Make somebody smile just by being goofy as hell and see if you don’t smile back. You have a bigger purpose than dishonoring yourself through suicide. Call. Now.
If you need IMMEDIATE help for ANY kind of substance abuse, tomorrow is NEVER the best day to get help. Do it today. That’s the only thing I can say for this one. You’re the only one that can make this decision. There are plenty of people, myself included, that can tell you what you SHOULD do, but I listened to that for 20 years, too. You alone can make this decision.
Here’s some others. I’ll add more as I become aware of them.
Those had to go first, mainly because somebody is one day going to read something here and decide to get sober or clean, and I felt I needed to put those front and center and easy as hell to find. Below you will find some of my favorite bloggers. This is a fluid page and I’ll change it whenever I find anything I like.
The only way I know to describe Mark Manson is narcissistic, candid, and brilliant. When I was researching how to blog and what I wanted my blog to look like and how to get away with cussing like a sailor stricken with Tourettes and bedbugs, I went and studied Mark Manson.
A woman named Jenny Lawson does this one. She’s funny and she can talk honestly and hilariously about depression. I haven’t begun to explore all there is to her blog, but it’s really interesting so far.
It’s basically a blog of funny pictures. But some are piss your pants funny.
